Public Records Request Win.. in Seattle

Just wanted to post this to show it is not just a local issue to be denied, or just ignored, when making a public records request.

As you may recall, we made several public records request with the Auditors Office of Custer County, and was met with an unlawful form to fill out, and a request with the Saddleback Road District, and at first we were ignored, then it was sort of a mix of denial and ignorance. That’s sort of their go-to.

Then they responded to the Office of Hearing Examiners, but still didn’t respond to our request, which again is not lawful. Then they finally responded to our request with just bare bones of records and said everything else was part of a ministerial action. Keep in mind that even the Custer County State’s Attorney, who has been wrong many times, recognized that these people did not know the difference between ministerial and discretionary… and said so in a letter.

I had been asked more than once why I did not push the issue and take all of these people to court.

Watch the video. This is why.
