National Headlines in Open Records Lawsuit

I’ve not paid any attention to this court case till just recently, as I wanted all the facts stated before I tried to share any of it.

Because I was looking into more “Open Records” stories, I found this National Headline story, which I think gives a little weight to my own belief that we are getting shined on. That the Saddleback Road District Board, and Bob Hummel et al, are not acting on good faith.

And this also gives a little prelude to upcoming actions. We asked 3 times. We asked the Office of Hearing Examiners ask for us. Each time we are thwarted. We have 90 days to bring civil action against the district for this violation of law. By then we will have won the Special Assessment lawsuit, and I will be able to focus on the next battle.

And while this one is time restrained, there are others that are as well. Anyway, here is a good introduction to just how important Open Records laws are and how a judge might react.

And concerning my own interests- jump to 58 minutes. Defendant is claiming plaintiff is using this platform as a show and for attention and the response is basically, it doesn’t matter. They are public records.

And what I like in this video is where Ms. Merchant states that they know the defendant did not supply all the records. That’s where we are. We already know of some meetings and decisions that the rogue district board has not provided all the records. Because we already have some of them.
