May 2, 2023 Annual Meeting/Election
Dale steps down… or at least that’s the impression.

Mentions an agenda. Likely as cryptic as the rest they like to label ‘agenda.’ However, you can see for yourself, as when I come across it in the emails, I’ll post it.
Summarized the budget with no details. Did call it a road improvement plan, still… or again.
The treasurer, Crystal Farrokhi, makes no mention of any taxes being behind. That’s public information and she gets a report each year that points that out.
Calling the Special Assessment a ‘yearly fee’, thus clarifying that they are not doing it by the book. Not even close. Also noting that it went up 25%. Again clarifying to anybody who does the paperwork that this is not a levy. But the meeting minutes from the previous year are here for you to see. Several secret/closed door meetings, with no notice or input, were had where the untrustworthy trustees talked among themselves and took a vote.
More talk about culverts filling. Even though Dale Ruzicka blamed past administrations for that. Typical politician.
Note- a mention of the insurance. Dale likes to mention that insurance whenever the opportunity presents itself. Or even if doesn’t.
Tod Stewart brought up the topic of the properties that rent out (VRBO/AIR B&B) potentially causing more traffic on the road and suggested possibly looking into raising the yearly fee for those properties. He mentioned he was considering renting camping spots on his lot and would be willing to pay more if he was creating more traffic. It will be discussed further by the board and communications will be relayed as this topic is approached.
A neighbor suggests an idea that couldn’t possibly ever work. And the Board said they would discuss it. What they didn’t say out loud was that it would be just them… no notice, no input. Another closed door meeting.
Later, I make a note of this when addressing many of the Board’s activities. I also mention that it was never brought up again. <shock>

Joel was elected, after I pushed him to run again. We were still trying to get some control of the board, instead of them controlling us. Says there were 12 paper ballots… gee, I wonder which 2 people did not vote for him. 🙂 Which two people recognized they would not be able to push him around? Which two people had every intention of Dale continuing to pull the strings with Crystal? Let me think….
