District Meeting Announcement May 21, 2017

I had to upload it in 2 parts, but this is one email. Let’s start at the top. This is an email that was sent out on May 21, 2017. Now, road districts have their annual trustee election meetings on the first Tuesday in May. Only the very first election is a different date, unless the district elects a different schedule, which this one did not.

Moving on, you can see this meeting is going to be at an address on Ghost Canyon Road. All district meetings and elections are to be held within the district. This address is not within the district. This is just an ongoing pattern that you will recognize as you read on.

There are 2 trustee positions open for election. One was held by Mark Barker and the other by Kent Johnson.

As you already know from previous meeting minutes, Mark and Rose are a married couple, and both have been ‘serving’ on the board since the beginning. Again, as you may not have read the previous posts concerning this, as a married couple, they are considered a single landowner. And this single landowner was holding two positions on the 3 person board.

But wait… there’s more. That other seat that’s available was held by Mr. Johnson. Mr. Johnson moved out of state 9 months ago.

So, for 9 months, the Barkers, a single landowner, held all 3 positions on the 3 person board.

How do I know when he moved? I looked up the sale of his home.

I will say that during this time period, there was a feeling of neighbors. As you can see there it was a BBQ and meeting. I liked going to these meetings. I liked these people. But I was also pretty naive.

It seemed like a ‘club’ that I was a part of.
